Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC)  is the only petrochemical producing company headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain and sells its merchandise both locally and exports to other gulf countries and past, together with U.S. China, India, Pakistan among others.
GPIC crude oil west texas intermediate price is jointly owned by three main governmental establishments, namely, the Nationwide Oil and Gasoline Authority (NOGA) from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Primary Industries Company (SABIC) from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Petrochemical Industries Co. (PIC) from the State of Kuwait.
Established with a paid up capital of $160 million, the company employs 481 individuals of whom 92% are Bahrainis and considers its national staff its true asset and continuous catalyst for all of its international, regional and native achievements.
Its operations that involve pure fuel purchases, employment and coaching of Bahraini nationals, utilization of native contractors, energy consumption and different monetary and industrial operations inject around $200 million annually into the national financial system. GPIC uses pure fuel which is on the market domestically, as a basis for the manufacturing of ammonia, urea and methanol, which are its sole products.
GPIC strives to guard the surroundings by many environmental initiatives akin to a fish farm, chook sanctuary, palm tree plantations and natural garden which have been established on site, amongst others.Additionally, to manage the greenhouse fuel emissions, the Center East’s first carbon dioxide recovery plant was commissioned at GPIC in 2010. It has the capability to seize 450 metric tons of carbon dioxide per day from the reformer flue gases to enhance its carbon foot print.
The company’s Board of Administrators  includes representatives from the three shareholding states and is chaired by HE Dr. Ahmed AlSharyan.
The company’s executive management is led by Dr. Abdul Rahman A. Hussain Jawahery as President.
